Monarch Buttterfly (Danaus plexippus) feeds on swamp milkweed flowers (Asclepias incarnata) prior to laying eggs on the leaves.  Monarchs lay their eggs on milkweed because it is the only food the caterpillars will eat.  Summer, Nova Scotia, Canada.
