Male Blue Grouse or Dusky Grouse (Dendragapus obscurus) Rocky Mountains, spring. Male grouse can be quite territorial and aggressive during the spring mating season. This grouse patrolled a half block sized area around a trailhead and would peck at the hem of your pants.
