Spawning Brook Trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) in small tributary stream. These brook trout live most of the year in a high subalpine lake in the Beartooth Mountains of Wyoming, then migrating a short distance up this small stream to spawn in the fall before winter sets in. The trout with the orange bellies tend to be males and the plainer ones females.
