Alaskan or Northern Sea Otter mom and pup (Enhydra lutris). At this age the baby can barely swim, can't dive at all, and while the mother feeds she leaves the pup floating while she dives for food. Sometimes she is gone underwater for several minutes as she searches for food--mollusks, crabs, etc on the bottom--but she almost aways swims over and touches her baby between dives.
