Clouded Sulphur butterfly (Colias philodice) sips on goldenrod nectar (Solidago sp.), September, Rondeau Provincial Park, southwestern Ontario, Canada. As goildenrod pollen is too sticky and heavy to be dispersed on the wind, the plant relies for pollination on the numerous insects who feast on its pollen and/or nector.
