Sea Otters (Enhydra lutris)--mom with young pup. Young pups have light brown or yellowish fur called the "natal pelage." This fluffy fur helps the pup stay afloat before it learns the intricacies of swimming, and it will be completely replaced with dark brown adult fur by the time the pup is about three months old.
