Pronghorn Antelope (Antilocapra americana) herds gather in large groups in late fall before migrating to areas with less potential for deep snow. Here they gather on the grasslands below Poker Jim Ridge on the Hart Mountain Antelope Refuge before migrating to the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge 40 miles south. In light winters many will not migrate at all. Photo taken in early morning--first light.
